Now that we are having the biggest fall of snow that I can remember since I was a lad, following a trip to the [deserted] town centre with my DW to do a spot of shopping earlier today, I decided to take a few photos around our house to capture the moment before it all melts away and thought I would share a few with you.

It seems like years since I saw icicles hanging from the window ledges.

Thanks Dan, it was a bit of a mini test taking a few shots with my new camera too.

I bought a Canon PowerShot A4000 IS when were in New York on our cruise last year Dan. This was a similar camera that our friends from LA had owned and I was impressed with the shots they had taken with it. It was offered at a good price and the package included a spare battery, carrying case and a few other "bits and bobs".
It`s something new to learn as I have been used to my Nikon DSLR for years but owning a compact camera certainly will save me lugging my camera bag, lenses, flash unit etc.etc. with me wherever I go!

Oh that is right Terry, saw that on the other post. Seems to do a great job. I was told that the best camera is the camera you have with you. Like Woddy Allen once said that success is 80% showing up. It is nice to have the camera when you show up.

I have always been a Nikon guy, but have been thinking about trying a Canon.

It looks like the camera I got my wife. It was a coolpix something or other. It has a touch screen on the back and takes great photos. We used it a ton in WDW last January. I took some really cool panoramas (came with software to stich it).

Great pictures Terry! Looks colder than a .... whatever.

You're certainly colder than we are here! They thought we might get a few flakes last night but all we got was me. A different kind of flake.

I do rather wish we'd get a good snow. But with the exception of the last day or two, the weather around here has been spring like. Last weekend we were up around 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
Doesn't seem quite right for January.
But the weeds seem to love it.

Actually we had a system go through last night Tom and we got snow....a little but even with the teeny tiny amount Virginia Beach - Willamsburg was in driving chaos.....It took me 15 minutes more to get to work this morning.
