and anyone know how much it costs?

Im thinking it would make a wonderful long time souvenir for the girls, have each choose their pearl and have placed in a locket or whatever in a necklace

    Has anyone done this?

    How does it work?

    Any pics?

Last trip I saw from afar, Natalia was taking a nap in her stroller, and they made a big deal about it and lots of noise, so I didnt get close for fear of waking her up...

Sorry Mari, I have no idea. I've watched people opening the oysters but that's about all

I've used the pearl stand in DTD, which is probably owned by the same people. You choose an oyster, they open it and the pearl inside is for you. They are all different shades of pearl. Whilst the pearl is very cheap the settings can be very expensive. I've had 2 diamond rings from there, with the pearls inset. I adore them and they are my treasured souvenirs.

It was when I bought them. It was only around $12 for the pearl.

    Oh! Thats actually pretty good

And maybe picking a not to expensive setting will make for a great experience without it being too expensive

Mari, I found some photos of prices and some information.

When you pick your oyster, you have to pick the ugliest, hariest one there as these normally have large pearls or twin pearls.

Japan is supposed to be better than DTD as they have larger selection of jewellry to put the pearl in.

Hope this give you a bit more of an idea
