We are talking about food again, is there a pattern beginning here

What or where has been the best meal/food you have eaten whilst on holiday. Is there a WDW resort restaurant that has been top for you or one of the many restaurants outside.

I'm looking for some nice places to go this year so it will be interesting to hear what you have to say and what/where you have liked :D

After a bad start at Flying Fish on our first visit, my TA advised us to go again as the chef in charge had changed. We did and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. My favourite meal ever at WDW is the potato wrapped red snapper at FF. I swear, if I was able to order a last meal on earth it would be this. It is divine.
However my favourite dessert is the almond crusted cheesecake at Narcoossees, so I cant give all the points to the Flying Fish.

AT WDW mmmm hard that one :/

In December at the yachtsman's steakhouse, we had a rather wonderful waiter ;-) and werent REALLY looking forward to the food which we feel went downhill in recent years (lamb with a curry glaze? really?) HOWEVER not only was the service impeccable but the food was the best we had onsite the whole holiday. VERY surprised. Although it wasn't my fave bourbon steak which they stopped long ago, it was a WONDERFUL peppercorn steak.

Now normally Charleys offsite would be by far our most fave place to eat in Orlando but last few times it's been hit and miss and despite often going 2 or 3 times per holiday, in december we went once and didnt want to go back. I'm hoping its just a glitch.

Columbia at celebration without a doubt the best and most consistently wonderful for us.

onsite.. think onsite erm erm erm erm erm erm :/ california grill overpriced but love the view and with a few glasses of champagne it's just wonderful. Food wise, not as good as the view but still I like it.

    We like Columbia as well

I don't have a fave WDW restaurant, I was disappointed with YSH when we went last year. Artist Point used to be nice but that has gone downhill as well.

Mags what does red snapper taste like?

Wendy, it is quite a mild tasting fish. I dont think it would offend anyone. it is so delicious wrapped in the crisp potato layers. It is served (from memory) on a potato/leek puree and a beef or veal reduction. It is so good. Flying Fish wouldnt be my favourite setting for a signature restaurant but I have to go back to have that dish yet again.

I reckon my best dining experiences have been at either V & A`s or Bern`s Steakhouse in Tampa.
That said, the most pleasurable/memorable dining experiences have been at the YSH....having fun with a certain person who works there.

I haven't done Berns since my cousin lived in Tampa and that was many years ago. Our best experience at WDW has been V&A's Chef's Table. Whenever we have a certain server at YSH we always have great food.

Our favorite restaurents have to be either Cape May at the Beah Club. Amazing buffet, great fish on it. And Biergarten, we usually do not care for buffets but these are good quality and delicious food rather then buffets that had mediocre food but quantity!
We will be eating at Cape May in 3 night and Biergarten in 4 days!!

One of our most memorable meals was at Le Bistro which is now closed. :(

We too LOVE Cape May. It's simple, very well prepared and an extremely well tended buffet. We've not been though since the changes to some of the standard offerings. We did enjoy a lovely breakfast there recently too.

Off site? Hmmmm... depends. For basic, decent food served well, we like our local Long Horn. Specifically that restaurant as others are not as well run. Not sure how that is, but it's the case at any rate.

Yellow Dog Eats for fun, and tasty pulled pork.

The Big Easy for crawfish! Loving this place, but it's not open on Sunday.

Welcome to our new home! It's a lovely and friendly place. If you haven't joined yet, do register. It's a great place to make friends and share all those Disney secrets!!
