Ah right. The last one we had, we made a copy of someone's SD card and used it with no problem on ours.
Was so annoyed with the UK one though. Bought it, then our sat nav broke and we couldn't transfer the maps onto our new device
yeah I thought that too.. I love the unlimited maps but having everything keyed to one device does make it awkward to move device

Darn it. I was going to ask you and Chris how to go about getting the US maps for my Garmin that you both persuaded me to buy. [Or rather persuaded my DW to buy as it was a Christmas present.]

I thought that was just with the downloaded ones, not the SD card ones.... so they do it with the SD card ones now too then?

You should have the maps for the US on there already Terry. I can send you our way points, you will just have to delete the UK addresses like Keith did when I sent them to him.

of course I didn't delete them so have all Wendy's UK points still in there. I usually turn it on in Orlando and start to type in the address for the fantastic villa we stay at only to have it say "Calculating.... Calculating... Destination, Terry Home - there are 4500 miles to your destination"

Quite a shock the first time it happened let me tell you

That reminds me of the time when my garage were getting my new car ready for collection a few years ago.
They rang me several times to check my home postcode so that they could programme the satnav for me.
When I went to collect the car I asked them why they kept asking me the same question only to be told that one of the technicians had somehow set the satnav to operate in Luxembourg!!!!
Apparently someone in that country shares my postcode as it kept saying that the destination was several hundred miles away.....it could have been a long journey home for me after I left the garage.
