We could do with taking a pair of phones with us to america in august, but I don't want to take my lovely new Samsung.
In the past we've bought a cheap pair of phones as soon as we get to the US but we're not having a car this time.
If we bought a couple of reallllly cheap ones here, would they work in the US? We'd literally just want it for texting each other.

I think they are all able to be used over there now, someone I'm sure will confirm

You would have to make sure the phones are quad band. Keith will be able to tell you the exact bandwidth to check for.

Would you just get some UK pay as you go SIM cards. It would probably be best to check that they can be used internationally before buying them.

You can guarantee he will be here at some point. He's not normally far away when there is a question like this

Quad band was the phrase I couldn't quite retrieve lol! What about using your regular SIM cards? We used ours for texting, probably cost us about 5 each over almost 3 weeks

We're on pay monthly so I'd rather do pay and go for america. Just prefer to know exactly what I'm spending. Don't trust pay monthly abroad
