Finished the Disney part of the trip on Friday at the 24hr opening at Magic Kingdom. We also finished our Universal visit on Thursday. We're now onto the final part which includes SeaWorld, Aquatica and Discovery Cove.

One thing I did notice with Universal that they did seem to be really pushing the express pass. We were asked at least twice on the three days we were there if we were considering buying the pass. On the rides we also noticed that despite the park being busy many of the rides were running at half capacity. For instance Men in Black and ET only one half was being used the other side the seats were running empty and a lot of the other rides and shows were not being filled completely. I don't remember this the last time we come. They were also putting the really popular rides such as Harry Potter at at least 20 mins longer than they actually were. We went on Harry Potter with a 70 min wait and were through and done in 45 mins. This happened to us a couple of times on different rides.

Anyway, we decided to have an easier day after our late one at Magic Kingdom so on Saturday we went to SeaWorld. Even though it was really busy we just really wanted to concentrate on doing the shows in and if we got on any rides then it was a bonus. Andrew and Meg got on the Manta in 10 mins which was a surprise but over by Atlantis and Antartica it was heaving and the ride times for Atlantis and Kraken were an hour.

On the way to the park we called in at Discovery Cove to buy the parking package and to change our paper tickets to the photo tickets. The lovely girl there told us that the new Antartica had a 6 hour wait all day on the opening day Friday. When we looked out of interest in the afternoon it was 3 hours and it stayed like that till close. A couple we were talking to at the Shamu show told us that they had arrived before 9 on Saturday and they still had to wait 2 hours as all the passholders, etc were allowed in early to ride it. We're going to try to get there early later on in the week but I'm not waiting 3 hours, if we don't do it this trip then it'll just have to wait.

The Shamu Rocks show was fab, we've never been able to see it before. Before the show started the cameras were panning round the crowd and picking out people to show on the big screen. There was one young lad who was really giving it some to the music whilst dancing on his chair and everyone cheered him, but at the same time some woman was getting past him. You could see her stop and tell him off even though he was telling her they were on the big screen, she just stood there waving her finger and everything. It wasn't his mother as she was beside him, this lady was with another person. The funny thing was that just before the start of the show, they showed the clip again in slow motion and everyone booed her.

Today we're off to Boggy Creek Airboat Ride, it's a first for us so I'll let you know how we get on.

Interesting that Universal is running rides at half capacity. I wonder why that is. Although it is heartening to hear that the wait for Harry Potter was not as long as expected. On our honeymoon we got jumped into the express line and still waited about 2 hours before we got to ride.

Glad to hear you are having a great trip. We are going to discobery cove on our next trip - what is involved in the parking package? And what is the difference between having the paper tickets and photo tickets?
    Thanks

The parking package is something you can add to your package. Basically you get 14 days unlimited parking at SeaWorld and Aquatica for just $31. I think it's $35 if you include Busch Gardens. It saves us a fortune on the parking, especially as we do at least 2 days each at Aquatica and SeaWorld.

When our tickets arrive they are on A4 paper with a bar code on and all our details. When you get to Discovery Cove they will take your paper copy and make you plastic cards. These will have your photo, whether you are over 21, the bar code off your sheet which is scanned at the turnstiles at Aquatica, etc and the date of Discovery Cove visit. Last time we went to Discovery Cove before visiting SeaWorld, etc, but this time we wanted to go to SeaWorld first. Just call in if you are going to any of the other parks before your DC visit and they will sort it for you.

Sounds like you're quite settling in

Can't wait to hear what you think of the airboat ride
