Disney's Planes is due to be released on the 9th August 2013.

Disney’s Planes is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure featuring Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane who dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible.

Having watched the trailer I wish Pixar were involved.

There is something missing, and I can't quite put my finger on it. I guess I'll hold out until the film is released

I think I remember hearing that this was supposed to be a Pixar movie but that they pulled out of the project? I can't remember. I might be wrong about that. Anyway, I think that was the right decision. This one seems like such a miss. The plot sounds straight out of Cars. And even though Cars was Pixar, and that gave it some redeeming qualities, it is easily my least favorite of the Pixar films. I doubt I'd even watch this one on DVD. :/
