This is our favorite Value Resort. We have stayed here more than any other Value. Love the bar, even though there is nothing really special about it.

All Star Sports is our favorite "All Star" resort. It holds a special sentimental significance for us as it was the first Disney resort we stayed at, and it was our hotel of choice during our favorite trip in December of 2011. As with all value resorts, the biggest "pro" for this resort is price. In fact, when price is a consideration, we have often found that we can stay on property at one of the AS Resorts comparably to what it would cost to stay off-site. Sports and Music also typically see a slightly bigger discount and lower price than Movies. So if you're counting pennies, this is a good option.

While price is universally a pro for the All Star resorts, another HUGE point in favor of All Star Sports specifically is bus transportation. Quite often throughout the year, the All Star resorts share buses to the parks. The nice thing about Sports, is that it's typically the first stop for pick up and the first stop for drop off. When it's busy, this is a HUGE advantage to our family.

There is no table-service restaurant, but All Star Sports (as well as the other value resorts) has a huge food court with loads of options. We have always found the food court tasty and adequate for our needs, and our only complaint is that it closes promptly at midnight; which is usually only a problem during EMH. There is no "room service" per se, but pizza delivery is available in room from 5pm to Midnight.

The bar is outside by the main pool, which is typically quite pleasant - unless it rains. There is a small awning over the bar itself, but it doesn't offer much in the way of protection from the elements - especially if you get a strong Florida storm. The drinks are usually tasty; I can confidently recommend the Margarita's and MaiTai's.

The pool is quite fun, though there are no water slides at this, or any of, the All Star Resorts. There is a "kiddie area" just off the main pool stage that has seen hours of fun from my daughter. It's simple, but then at that age, that's all they need. In the last few years, they have really stepped up their game poolside. During the day, you'll find games (Bingo, Trivia, etc) and other contests being held with small prizes for the winners. During the evening, they erect a large inflatable screen (weather permitting) and show a Disney movie. This is a great chance to grab a cold beverage from the bar, a lounge chair and snuggle up with someone you love (or like enough to snuggle with).

If you're looking for larger-than-life theming and want to be immersed in the Disney Experience even while sleeping, the All Star Resorts are the place to be. As for All Star Sports, we love the giant outdoor Twister mats, and the massive "Fooseball" courtyard.

Tip: The three Disney All-Star Resorts look very similar so be sure you are at the right resort before exiting the bus (especially important when the resorts are sharing buses!). After a particularly late night at the MK one evening we groggily stepped off the bus at Sports only to find we'd REALLY stepped off the bus at Movies
