Today is starting out beautiful enough. Blazing sunshine and deep blue sky. It's hot though, and very humid so that's an indication there will be more flashy storms this afternoon. It's been a very wet and stormy summer.

Hope the pool is as nice today as it was last evening! :D

    we've been to Walmart!

Having a bit of pool time now before heading to Downtown Disney then dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.

The saying so far is "it's deeper than it looks" - we've had a few 'incidents' trying to enter the jacuzzi.

    Morning!

We spent about $300 in Walmart on villa supplies and various bits and pieces - got Steven a cool t-shirt with Bazinga splashed across it. :D

So we had some pool time then hopped in the car to Downtown Disney. Parked behind Cirque - the lot was empty, even at 2pm. Adrian walks fast so he kept ending up miles ahead of those of us strolling and taking it all in. Steven spotted "those" apples in Goofy's Cauldron Candy and had to have a Mickey apple. We strolled through what's left of Pleasure Island and just made it into the TRex store behind the deluge came. Steven has his own money to spend and bought a tiny bottle of gold flakes and he also bought a geode to split on the machine in there. He's a bit interested in rocks and crystals so this was $5 well spent for him and he managed to get some good lava crystals inside the geode he chose. Next was the Lego store where the boy was completely overwhelmed with the choice. One purchase later and we're in Ghiradelli's having a drink break. World of Disney is not as much fun when you have children and Grandmas to keep track of but I picked up a few bits in there too. Steven died and went to heaven in Once Upon A Toy. Not only could he build a light saber (half jedi, half sith) but then he could also build his ow droid too.

Oh oh oh we noticed a few more bits of merchandise with the Mine Mine Mine gulls on.

I watched the sketching artists in the Art of Disney for a while. Will keep an eye on funds and see how we do towards the end of the trip as they are amazing.

Steven got R2 D2 Mickey ears and we bought a few other bits and pieces. Then he played in the fountains for a bit before we caught the water taxi back to the West Side. As we got off the boat the rain started. The sensible ones (me, Steven, Nanny Lesley) stood in relatively sheltered spot and got slightly damp. The non-sensible ones (Adrian and Grandma) ran to the car - the wrong car - and got wet.

Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. Then we drove home through another downpour and I may have taken a random turning and taken an alternative route back to the villa. Then it was off to bed as this morning we have breakfast at Ohana at 7.30am.

    It's now 5.14am on Monday morning. :D

    Grandma update.

It's clear that whenever she went on holiday with Grandad he was in charge of everything. She's completely clueless about money and Adrian has to escort her every time she wants to buy anything. She asks permission to do anything. Even asked if it was ok to put suncream on.

The highlight today was in Ghiradelli's. She ordered iced coffee. She got iced coffee. When she asked where her iced coffee was everyone pointed to it on the table in front of her. She looked perplexed at it and announced... "that's not liked the iced coffee you get in Spain." Adrian and Steven both immediately said, "well you're not in Spain."

Sounds like Grandma is going to be a trip report unto herself. But hey, is she having fun so far?

When you find yourself in EPCOT, stop into the animation shop there and ask if they've selected "artist for the day" yet...Steven would LOVE it!
