    Helpppppp :)

It's my parents 50th Anniversary in a couple of weeks time and we're a bit stumped on what to get. We're going to take them out for a lovely meal of course but a bit stumped on what else?

I did do a bit of digging a few months ago to see if they'd like to go back to Venice where they honeymooned, or somewhere else, but they really don't seem up for traveling so that's out.

    Any ideas?!?

Well, the obvious is something gold. Perhaps rings? Do your parents like jewelry, or other ornate things? It's wicked hard to buy gifts after a certain point, isn't it?

    incredibly difficult :(

Dad's very much a "men don't wear jewelry" so I couldn't get them matching things in that way. I could get some kind of clock but I can't imagine they'd really LOVE it tbh :/

    Gold watches?

A gold something or other (plate, plaque, wine cups???) engraved with their names, and wedding date? Do they drink?

Ugh. I'm really not any help, I know. I always struggled to buy gifts for my parents. :(

I did get them a clock for their 50th. It was one of those popular chimey things, and fairly large so Mama could see it. They really liked it. Or so they said.

Gift card bouquet? You could add one for dinners, movies, or maybe a photo studio where they could get a nice portrait of the two of them?
You could decorate it all in gold maybe

If they like history then Thorpe Castle near Bristol is lovely. You could get them a weekend away and who knows they might get to sleep in Henry viii bedroom. They will get dressed for dinner, can have afternoon tea on the terrace.

There might even be something like that up closer to you.

Do they visit National Trust places, they have a lifetime membership you could get them.

I'll try and think of some others but it is very difficult for a 50th.

Wendy do you mean Thornbury Castle? What you are describing sounds like where we stayed. Of course next to seeing some fantastic friends that was the highlight of our trip.
