When I'm planning a trip I set up a direct debit for the beginning of the month to another account to keep the money separate. We're stuck with school holidays for the next 4 years so we may not go. I'm not very keen on paying 4000 for flights when I know i can get them for half the price in low season.

Slowly! We have a change jar for small change and now we are saving 2 coins in a Disney mug too. I have a savings account for holidays so a little goes in each month.

May just have a go at that 52 week challenge too.

Ooh! I like this! I think we'll give the 52-week challenge a go when we return! I would love to encourage Andrew to do it as well! Funny how something so simple makes so much sense...

I forgot to add to my earlier post. We also each put $100/week in the savings account

It's great to do it as a couple. My fiancee and I do it together now. I believe we are on week 20 or so. Double the money.

Oooh! Yes! Good idea! So, MrDanielOwens, do you do the "yahtzee" version or the "by the week" version?

Well, right now I am paying for 2 weeks at a time because I get paid every other week. I believe we are on week 20.
