We've booked the following table service restaurants for our upcoming visit:

Boatwrights - Dinner before seeing Piano Bob later that evening. Jon ADORED this place when we first visited it three years ago, and has been anxiously awaiting our return.

Liberty Tree Tavern - Our traditional pre-MNSSHP meal!

Yachtsman Steakhouse - Off to visit Ricardo! (Or, in Andrew's case, "Eat a steak as big as my head.")

California Grill - Jon and I's "alone" evening. I traded this one for Blue Zoo, I hope I made the right call.

All told, that leaves us with 8 TS credits remaining. We could either do ONE signature dining event (or dinner show) or TWO single service meals. So here's the short list:

    Kona Cafe (always a favorite)
Flying Fish (not sure if the kids would enjoy FF as much as Jon and I do)
Hoop Dee Doo Revue (Always a good time, but we were somewhat disappointed last time we attended)
Cape May (either dinner on our first night or breakfast on our last day-I'm just not much on "fried" seafood, so I wonder if I'd be pleased)
Grand Floridian Cafe (LOVED this place, quite the hidden gem, IMO)
Whispering Canyon (for breakfast on our last day)
Trails End Buffet (Never been, but the menu looks "comforting")
Chefs de France (Andrew's favorite; but not a fave of Jon's - REALLY not a fave)

So then...does anyone have any suggestions!? We are having the darnedest time deciding!

Hmm, well if it were me I would NOT do Cape May. It took a while before I could even convince Donna to give it a try and we both left less than impressed.
    We love Flying Fish.

How about JIKO, which I think may be considered signature. We've done GF Cafe for breakfast and on our upcoming trip will do it for lunch. Also how about Citrico's (another siggie I think) or Narcoossee's?

Have you ever thought about doing the Luau at the Polynesian?

We were actually leaning more towards the signature meals because, quite frankly, we didn't want to eat a sit-down meal each day, so we planned on using our credits a bit differently this time (though I SWEAR we're still sitting down every day because we've also booked a couple of F&W experiences). I'll have a look at the Citrico's/Jiko/Norcoossee's menus and see if anything stands out. The kids, while adventurous to a degree, still have somewhat particular pallets, so I'm not sure which would appeal to the masses most favorably!

Terry, we actually replaced Blue Zoo (our "alone" evening) with Cali Grill (hoping for a more romantic atmosphere), but after reading the latest review for opening night at CG, I'm absolutely reconsidering this switch. Blue Zoo doesn't accept the dining plan, no, but we were interested to try it anyway (upon your recco). Of course, if I make that switch, we'll have 12 credits remaining!

I've noticed over the years that we have similar taste in food as you and Sue, so tell me what you like at AP?

AP is [apart from the YSH], the only on-site restaurant we visit that I know what I am going to eat without the need for a menu.
For me :~ Starters....Heirloom tomatoes [if in season], Main Course....Buffalo Steak, Desert....Fruit Cobbler
Sue does pick something different on occasion, however she mainly opts for the Planked Salmon for her main course.

I can see where you are coming from with the "romantic" aspect of CG Becca, with the fireworks etc., however you must give the Blue Zoo a try some day which almost matches it for that atmosphere.

It's been a little while since we've done it (1999) but have been wanting to go back. My wife really enjoys it as it is her favorite (mine is Hoop Dee Doo) but I like the luau as well. Try to get seating in Category 1 or 2. The food is typical South Seas luau fare served family style and is all you care to eat. Pulled pork, BBQ ribs, roasted chicken, Polynesian rice, salad, veggies and pinapple-coconut bread. There is also a dessert but I don't remember what it is. The food really hasn't changed much over the years.

The show itself is a lot of fun and they get the audience and the kids involved as well. If you have kids with you definitely do the early seating. If it's an adults only night have the later dinner.
