Love love love this time of year!!! One of the main reasons why I could never bring myself to move away. We have already been apple picking, but it is a bit too early for pumpkin farms still :) We have another week or so to get to peak color, but as soon as we do I will take some pictures for you. We usually try to get up to Old Forge or Lake George to see the leaves at least once during the season. :)

There is something about Old Forge, isn't there? Love that little village...

There is indeed :) So far it is still going strong! Each time we head up there after winter we hold our breath to see how many shops are still open, and so far, most of them are. We have lost/gained a few over the years, but overall it stays the same.

It seems like in the last few years people are staying closer to home rather than huge vacations far away. That is great news for little areas like ours. I would say that I have never seen Lake George so packed as it was this summer when we went. It wasn't a special weekend up there or anything, but event he camp grounds were full!

Anyway the moral of the story is that you need to visit :) In the Fall, of course!

Yes. We do want the boy to know the Adirondacks. Old Forge is tied closely with my Da. We went there often, as he did before he was married. Learned to ski on McCauley, and used to beg to go to the Pied Piper. Enchanted Forest was a yearly ritual, and boy did that get super nice once they put in the water park area.

I want the boy to see Blue Mountain Lake and the Museum too. Love that place.

    Lake George. Loved the Steamboats!!!

Yep... now I REALLY need to come up in the fall... stop at the Florentine for pusties and head north! :D :D

My favorite season. Hands down, by a mile.

    For scenes like these:

For apple and pumpkin picking, for bonfires, for crisp cool air and crunch leaves...I only regret not living here sooner.

Looks so beautiful. I grew up in N Pennsylvania. Not tot far from the Adirondacks. My cousin just did a hike there and did some paddling last weekend as well. Here is a shot she shared.

Beautiful. I do love the ocean, but the mountains are glorious as well!
