We've pretty much decided on WL/WLV as we love trees and wood.
Wilderness lodge is one of our favourite resorts We stayed there for our Disney wedding and several times since. It's a lovely peaceful resort but has that Disney buzz going on because it's only a short boat ride to magic kingdom.

The boat ride itself can be oodles of fun and far better than a bus IMHO

The resort feels like its in the middle of a forest. Secluded and feel like a quality resort.

Artist point, well, the food is still good but sometimes the service can be a little hit/miss. They can be empty of a typical evening and often they'll try and seat guests by the kitchen so they dont have too far to go (seriously). Stupid when they have such wonderful tables by the window.

The pools are great and relaxing, one of the only resorts I swim at.

nice helpful shop which, since it caters for the villas, has everyday foods and essentials as well which can be really useful.

I can't tell you how much I love the wilderness lodge. I'm a bit careful about recommending it to people because I've had folks say "nothing special" and I understand that, it's not like you walk in and there are thousands of events happening. It's more that you relax there in a great, luxury hotel just a short boat ride from the magic kingdom

Thanks, Keith. That sounds like just what we want from a resort.

We love Wilderness Lodge but can't afford to stay there often as it is still a deluxe and we are more Mod/Value types.

We can't afford it really. We just wanted to indulge ourselves for our 20th.

I stayed one night in a villa room. It was very nice. Then I stayed in a room on the second floor that was right off the lobby and looked out onto the pool. I was basically dead center. It was a fantastic room and view. I love the theming of the WL. However, I believe that the food court could be improved. It just wasn't big enough and didn't offer much. I didn't have any real troubles with the buses. I had heard horror stories about them and that just didn't seem to be the case. With all the buses there is some waiting involved. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The gift shop was really nice too. In fact, I bought a throw there that I still have on my bed here at home.

I'm really a deluxe girl but sadly my wallet is more of the value type :-)

I've had a couple of short stays at WL. I love it! It's a great location and a short ferry ride to MK. The lobby is very noisy due to Whispering Canyon but every room we've stayed in has been great. It's a very relaxed feel. There are tons if things to do at the resort.

I'm also not impressed with their quick service location.

    Thanks, foreverducky and Johnie.
The food venues aren't really an issue for us, we just eat wherever we happen to be.
