We're nearly there! After ages of planning and waiting, we leave for Orlando two weeks today!

Thing is, we have an Epcot Le cellier reservation at 7:30pm on the day we arrive. The theory being that we wont waste a minute and we'll see the fireworks on the first night to get in the Disney mood.

Thing is, The flight is DUE in at Orlando at 3:40pm

I wouldn't normally book something so early and I'm wondering if there's any chance of us making it :/

I'm kinda figuring if everything is on time, we'd be through the airport by 5/5:30 allowing for a bit of a queue (although not a 3 hour queue!) at the villa 6ish leaving just enough time to unload the cases and get to EPCOT (probably 20mins away).

I'm even thinking well if we didn't get out of the airport until 6:30, ok we could just go to EPCOT direct.

What do you think ? will we make it or is it just pure insanity?

I'm not one for making ADRs on the first night. Having said that we normally stay outside Disney now for the first week. However when we used to stay onsite at the beginning of our holiday a few years ago, we always ate at a fast QS venue on the first night as we knew we would be too tired to enjoy a table service meal as we should.
Too often Keith we were delayed as well and maybe didn't even make it to the resort until about 8pm. In fact this year is the first time in about four trips that we landed on time.
Would you consider eating at one of the very decent QS venues in Epcot prior to the fireworks, just in case that is!

I think you are cutting it fine.

We landed on an earlier flight and we were meeting Mari at the Grand Floridian.

It was a mad rush, by the time we got to the villa, unpacked, went and got some essentials and then showered to go out, we only just got there in time.

If you are going to go for it then I would suggest parking in the BoardWalk and getting the boat across to International Gateway, you won't have far to walk then.

Oooo that's an interesting idea, I hadn't thought of that..... ah but, is there a guest relations window for us to pick up our park tickets at the international gateway?

Is boardwalk parking easier/better/closer than beach club?

Yes there is a Guest Relations at International Gateway. We always find it's easier at the BoardWalk, they don't ask as many questions

fascinating! ok so I can get our APs etc there and then yes, far shorter walk to le cellier... and ok if the plane is late, we'll just go straight there and get to the villa later.

tbh we're never that tired on the first night and just fidgety wanting to do something. That's why I booked it

You sure have more stamina than me Keith. On our first night we just want to crash out soon after we get to our villa.
Having said that, our friends from LA who will also be landing on Christmas day [as are we] have made an ADR for us all at Ohana`s on the day we all arrive this time. Fortunately they have made it for 9.30 pm and I`m hoping the excitement of Christmas Day will help us all to stay awake during dinner.

If you don't make it, will you be charged for it?

Otherwise, I'd say go for it. You can go directly to EPCOT if necessary as you said. It will be a long night/day, and it will require good timing, but as you point out, you aren't all that tired anyway.

    Enjoy the moment!!

I'd follow Wendy's direction and park at the Boardwalk. We frequently valet park there and go in through the International Gateway. I picked up my Orbitz ticket voucher at that window last May.

The only thing I would change is probably go directly to Epcot before the villa.
