This is something we were talking about in work recently. The movie companies are still ploughing billions into 3D and the cinemas have gone all in but more and more people seem to be going for the 2D versions. Even in TVs it seems to have become a bit of a busted flush.

Personally although I've seen some examples of really well done 3D, it's still ended up giving me some eye strain and it just isn't as comfortable for me as watching 2D. The effect doesn't outweigh the discomfort for me so I'll always hunt out the 2D version if I can.

    What about you?

I also hate them. I always worry something is going to jump out at me! I only ever watch 3D at WDW when I know the films so well, that I know when to remove the glasses lol! A for the cinema though, I'd never go and see something in 3D.

Out of the entire office, only one person said they preferred 3d versions. So, although the movie industry keeps pushing it hard, I have to wonder how long they'll keep making them if most of us prefer the 2D versions?

I wouldn't watch any 3D. Even watching Muppets at Disney is uncomfortable.

Love 3D but wouldn't want it on my TV.

I don't mind short 3D films, like the ones at WDW, but I'd not want to watch and full feature, nor would I want it on my television.

In my opinion, 3D was a gimmick to sell TVs and re-release movies to try and fill the sales vacuum after everyone switched to HD.

I only ever watch a 3D movie if it means I'd otherwise have to wait a long time for the 2D showing, or someone books the 3D by mistake!

As far as home cinema goes, all of my equipment is 2D only, as I hate the idea of needing to buy as many specs as I might have guests.

I got a 3D tv and have never used the glasses or 3D function since the first week of having it... I forget I've got them. Having said that... the 3D gives me a whopper of a headache. But it's nice to know I have it if I want itt.... just got to remember I have it.
