    The 86th Academy Awards nominations have been announced and Disney have been nominated in 7 categories:

    • Animated Feature: Frozen
    • Original Score: Saving Mr Banks (Thomas Newman)
    • Original Song: “Let It Go” from Frozen music and lyrics by Kristin Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez)
    • Makeup and Hairstyling: Lone Ranger
    • Short Film – Animated: Get a Horse
    • Visual Effects: Iron Man 3
    • Visual Effects: Lone Ranger

    And I am not happy that Emma Thompson didn't even get nominated for her portrayal of P. L. Travers in Saving Mr. Banks.

    me neither but there seems to be quite a bit of competition this year, i haven't seen the other leading ladies' performances so can't really make an informed decision though

    Well what about Tom Hanks, I thought he would have been nominated for playing Walt.

    I think Saving Mr. Banks is too sentimental for the oscars.

    I thought Emma Thompson was fantastic - one of the most believable portrayals I've ever seen and she's fallen a victim to the Oscars' snobbery.

    personally I thought he was great and I loved the film but I think we're all very biased and it probably wasn't worthy of an Oscar.
