Just wondering what everyone does for money out there?

Last few times we've exchanged everything into dollars and kept it in the safe but friends have advised us to go for travellers cheques or a card like fairfx

the other option could be to just use credit cards and pay when we're back but I dont know if I like the idea of using cards out there too much

we take some cash adn the rest in TC - because

    1. We like to guess at the best rate in the 6 month sor so leading up to holiday to get the best rates

    2. Using TC's in WDW is as simple as using cash

    3. It is safer than cash

    4. I like to go away knowing the holiday is paid for and there won't be any unexpectedly huge card bills to further dampen my spirits post Disney upon my return

i will always take TC's, 1st time last trip and thank god i did as the villa we stayed in got robbed and we had near on $2000 go but most was TC's so we got it back next day, just make sure you list the S/N's and mark off which ones get used, only takes a minute each day but worth it

I'm a TC/cash person, too. You can purchase TCs in US dollars, then just use the change as you go. Remember to get them in different denominations, if possible. You'll need some 20s for smaller purchases, and 50s or 100s for larger ones, paying the room, etc. Merchants don't always have a lot of cash on hand, so please try to avoid using high denominations for small purchases.

Keep a list of your TC serial numbers separate from your TCs in case of loss or theft. As Mick said, it's easy to have them replaced in an emergency.

If you're renting a car, you'll need $2 or $3 in coins and bills for tolls on the way to WDW. Most of the tolls are 50 cents to $1.

Bit of cash and the rest in travellers checks. Don't like coming home to a big credit card bill.

We take a card for emergencies but rarely use it.

A bit of cash and mostly TC's. Have a credit card for the "Just in Case".
