Music is such a HUGE part of my life. It's my business actually :p015: But I also just love it. I never sit down on the computer or get in my car that I don't have tunes going. Just curious what bands/artists folks here like. I imagine my taste may run to the 'never heard of 'em' for most of ya as I tend to like a lot of indie artists but here's who i like & i'd love to see who you all do

    My likeys:
    The Flaming Lips
    Beck
    Elliott Smith
    Yo La Tengo
    Nick Drake
    Eels
    Ween
    Neutral Milk Hotel
    Dave Matthews Band
    Matt Costa
    Pete Yorn
    Of Montreal
    Laura Marling

You know? It's much easier for me to say what I don't like, as I love so much music!

    I cannot listen to country/country and western. It literally makes me nervous and jittery. :sigh;

I've never appreciated rap, or gangsta rap so never learned to like it.

Most jazz is problematic for me, I particularly dislike scat singing.

Other than that, I love it all.

Some immediate favorites that come to mind:

    Carreras
    Callas
    O'Connor (as in Sinead)
    Buffy Saint Marie
    Annie De Franco
    Elton John
    Melissa Etheridge
    Mozart
    Yoyo Ma
    Firehouse
    Queen
    Almost all Disney music
Bagpipes (Royal Scots Dragoon Guards and the like)
    The Chieftans
Turlogh O'Carolyn done by nearly anyone
    Pavarotti
    Kateri Tekaenawa
    Leontyne Price
    Motown (all of it)!
Guns n' Roses and that entire genre

    You get the idea, eh?

You are not wrong BigThunder! I've never heard of them! But this makes me want to find out more about them.

Hey psst...Cristine...wait til Chris (aka Dr Chris/skywatcher) gets ahold of this...he is cool....

And what the enemy will see? They will see the flash of our cannons, and they will hear the ringing of our swords, and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs and the courage in our hearts! Gentlemen, hoist the colors!

    I love Vivaldi, too Helly.

Yes. If I like it. I like it. Remember the 80's? Was there anything more fun than Adam and the Ants and the B-52's?

Can you hear a song from the "past" and be instantly transported to the time it conjurs in your mind? Totally emotive.
