Sorry to hear this :( I know it's hard but it is amazing what can be done now
Our friend broke his back and damaged his neck 7 years ago. We were told he stood little chance of bring able to walk again :( He was eventually transferred to a consultant that basically pinned him back together. He was in a solid straight jacket type thing with a metal support for his head until everything healed. Within 2 years he was able to carry on as normal, he went back to work (as a chiropractor) and even though he does still get bad back pain, he says it is far better than the alternative.
We are going on holiday with them in December.
I guess the only reason I'm telling you this is because I just really wanted to say that miracles can happen and hopefully the hospital will be able to do something for your uncle as well
I'm glad your cousin is going to see her Dad, being a Daddy's girl and not wanting to see your Dad in pain is something I can completely sympathise with her over, but as hard as it will be, she will be pleased she went.
Wishing them all good luck and wishes.
