I read about it but where is it and whats the food like, is it worth using dining plan for?
It's in DHS and it's soooooo worth it. But be ready for the environment, you are likely to become a long lost family member. It's kinda like a show.
How much interaction is there though is it mega scary? Any chance at all I wont get picked on?
My understanding is, Keith that if you don't interact, you won't be picked on. Now, having said that you still won't ever catch me in there as I simply don't trust the situation. I'd never be able to enjoy my meal as I'd constantly be worried that someone was going to come along and try to force feed me green beans, or tell me to stand in the corner or something. Way too scary for me!
yep, doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy either. Sounds like fun if you like that kinda thing though I guess it's like the whispering canyon at the wilderness lodge
You all know I love 50s Prime Time. We're not a "getting picked on" family either but we had a great time with Uncle Tim last time we were there. The food is pretty good too - especially if you like plain, non-faffy food as Adrian would call it.
See I love it in there and I hate audience participation - nothing they do is too bad and they tend to pick on DH as he is a much better target than me anyway
The kids are always on their best behaviour as well
50's Prime Time has long been one of our MUST do restaurants. We love the food. I especially like their fried chicken. We have never, as a couple, really felt "picked on" although one time when were there with the grandkids Donna tried to hide her veggies under a lettuce leaf and got caught. But she did it on purpose.
We absolutely love it. It's always on our must-do list. Just be sure to eat your vegetables and keep your elbows off the table. Violate these rules and they may make you go stand in the corner!
Tom (who's never had to stand in the corner yet!)
Yep. LOADS of folks like the place and that is a wonderful thing. I'm happy that there is a place at WDW that is seen as much fun by so many.
I'm just not one of them.
Same for WC. Ate there once. That will do thanks.
I'm just a serious wimp when it comes to that sort of stuff.
I guess that I must be one of those folks who walk around with a "Pick on me" sign tattooed to their forehead !
I made the mistake of going there a few years ago on my birthday along with several folks that I knew. No surprises then as to who was a victim that night!
Slowhand! You do have a marked tendency to be the one hauled up to the forefront, don't you?
Good that you are such a sport about it!
Jon gets picked on too! which makes me laugh, i just get told to take my elbows off the table. Can't wait to take Dan again - i feel an older teenager will attract a little attention
I got picked on big time and it was a scream! DH told me he was off to the toilet but unbeknown to me he had a word with our server and tipped him big time.... I ended up wearing a Little Mermaid bib and have photo's to prove it oh and I was spoon fed my greens lol... DD had to stand facing a wall...until she apologised for laughing so hard to her Dad.... The food is always good there for us and their milkshakes are to die for... only don't drink too much shake so you can't finish your dinner... or everyone will hear about it lol! I think you have to catch them right because sometimes they don't do it.
Ooooh, the shakes are yummy! You can get them to go at Tune In Lounge, which is what we did. Seth and I shared a chocolate one, a couple of years ago now. Good stuff!
and their smores.........................i know someone who will never eat another smore in his life because he ate too much there!!!
I spilt my shake.
Uncle Tim made me clean up before I could go back out and play.
Oh gosh. See? That's one of the zillion reasons I'd be unable to eat there. I'm an utter klutz.
Harry was so scared of Uncle Tim that for the only time that holiday he cleared his plate.
Now THAT might have its benefits.
