We've just been comparing notes in the office about what days we'd take off if we could. Sadly we're on a rota so it's decided for us :(

I know someone who saves all her holidays and has from the middle of december through to second week of january off!

try to finish up mid morning on xmas eve, off xmas day and boxing day, emergencies permitting of course. If something urgent comes up then i will be in the office even on xmas day.

most of the time during the holidays though, I will potter about in the house with the family, and move to my office as and when I am needed, rather than sitting at my desk all day.

It really depends on the employer in the US.

I'm really hoping to take off by 3:00 p.m. on Christmas eve and be off until Monday. Reality check: I'll probably have to work on Friday, December 26th. *sigh*

I'm more flexible with Christmas eve--as long as I'm not the host!--than New Year's eve. I'm off the streets by 6:00 p.m.--earlier, if possible--on New Year's eve. Too many thoughtless drivers out that night!

I, of course, don't get time off

The past 2 years Dh has had all of Christmas week becuase no one else in his office really wanted it. This year I'm not too sure. I think he might have to work on Friday so one of the other guys can have it off. As long as he gets Christmas eve which we do here, I'm happy

This year the 26th is my regularly scheduled Friday off. We're hoping they will let us go around midday on the 24th. Then I am on vacation from the 29th and back to work on 5 January.

Not really sure how this new company will do things. I know for Thanksgiving they gave us from Wednesday afternoon through Sunday (there are care workers involved so weekends count) off. I thought that was particularly generous.

I'll schedule myself home for the majority of Christmas week. Plus, I'll have that houseful of company, so I won't want to be far off. I can and do work from home though, so it's not like I'm taking any time off.

Well I think it is settled that Dh is taking the 23,24,25 off then he will have to work on the 26th (easy since no one will be working that day), then he is going to take Monday off for a long weekend. I'm good with that

I'm working 9am to 2pm Christmas Day. And the same New Years Day.
