We've just about got a present for everyone even my sister but are struggling with gifts for our fathers. Both retired, no real hobbies and usually get sweets and alcohol.

Anyone any ideas for impossibly hard to buy for fathers?

Do they like radio? Digital radios are fab. Subscription to a magazine? How about an 'experience'? Hot air ballooning or a track day in a Ferrari? I booked a days sailing for DH once and he loved it. Wine tasting course? Wine club token?

i've made up a food hamper for my Dad. He does have does have various hobbies but we've done those over the years so this year I found a lovely big box which I filled with luxury M&S foods for him - hope he enjoys it!

oh, and other bits and pieces from the boys to go with it!

and i just remembered - when my parents had power cuts recently we thought it would be a good idea for them to have wind up torches for emergencies so we got those too.

I got my dad some toffee with a little hammer - mainly because he'll nibble it between his front teeth and drive my mum mad.

I got him other stuff too - crossword book, jigsaw, gardening bits.

Last year we got Gavin's dad a guide book to Disneyworld and a mousemat with a photoprint of his favourite racing horse. The least money we've ever spent on him but he LOVED them!

And what the enemy will see? They will see the flash of our cannons, and they will hear the ringing of our swords, and they will know what we can do! By the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs and the courage in our hearts! Gentlemen, hoist the colors!
