So, to start with I need to find a venue.

We're looking for a hotel or a manor house type place that holds a wedding licence in the North Sussex, Hampshire or Dorest areas - Dorset may be preferable as they like that area but any of the above would be good.

It will need to be fairly large to accommodate all the guests and/or possibly have another hotel nearby for alternative guest accommodation. Any suggestions will be gratefully received!

Mum, first off you really do need to know how much they intend to spend on the entire wedding, which should include the amount they intend to spend on the "location."

You really can't do much without that info, except frustrate yourself! If they have no idea how much a wedding may cost, then you'll have to collect some prices for them. That will add quite a bit to your time spent on planning the wedding for them.

hee hee! I emailed them a letter earlier asking them for an exact idea when and how much they are allowing for the budget.

It was a funny letter and I made it out professional style calling the company "Idle Bride Wedding Planner Services" I explained how the wedding dress trip would be more enjoyable and heart warming if the mother of the bride, her daughter (my niece) and her sisters were asked to join her! Wonder if she'll take the hint

    When is the wedding?

If you Google 'civil venues' that should get you started. How about this:

Budget will be your deciding factor.
