Thank you all for your words of condolence and sympathy. Mom's viewing was on Sunday. It was very well attended and the support of our family and our friends was wonderful. Two college room mates made the two hours plus trip from Philly to lend support and due to previous engagements stayed for about a half hour then turned the car south to go right back to Philly. Seeing them was totally unexpected and it got me very choked up. Great guys those two.
Mom's mass was on Monday. The mass was lovely. I was honored to read the first reading and my brother performed the eulogy. Of course my Aunties gave the priest a hard time afterward (in a kidding way) as my mom was soooo Irish (it was a predominately Irish church St Pat's) and he was of Polish decent. He was just an amazing guy. A retired Monsegnior; we were honored that we were able to share a meal at Mom's reception luncheon.
It was a long and somewhat quiet drive back to Virginia yesterday. We got back around 8:00 and I had to get my head together to get back to work. I need to do some serious catch up in my master's classes. Any rate, thank you all for you concern. You don't know how much it meant.
I am so sorry to hear about your mum .
Dan, it sounds like it was a beautiful ceremony. You surely do have some wonderful friends. Thank you for sharing it with us. Take care now.
I'm so sorry Dan Your memories will stay with you forever, your precious Mom will always be with you and a part of you
If ever there is a tomorrow when we're not together.......
there is something you must always remember.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we're apart...... I'll always be with you.
