I have to deal with HP Service Desk at work, used to manage corporate-wide helpdesk and issue escalation. Darn thing is Java based and takes an age to load screens and carry out simple actions. Really does not help when the server it connects to is in the US. Costs about $7K per user license as well, so you would expect better from it!
I have a lot to do on a daily basis with some of the guys who "invented" java because of the services we provide and I can honestly say, they completely disagree that it's slow and resource intensive. I don't mean they say it but really hand on heart know it's bad, they really just don't see it. Amazes me every day it really doesOriginally Posted by Hex, post: 99039
I mean great if you have to write something that will work on many platforms, fine, give up a bit of speed for that but otherwise :/
Argh, I could rant all day
