    true.

    if only some big companies that create enterprise level software would consider this...

    I have to deal with HP Service Desk at work, used to manage corporate-wide helpdesk and issue escalation. Darn thing is Java based and takes an age to load screens and carry out simple actions. Really does not help when the server it connects to is in the US. Costs about $7K per user license as well, so you would expect better from it!

    oh i also found a copy of the code i was working on before christmas, and before my HDD died... having reviewed it again, I am going to redo some of it (hindsight is a wonderful thing). I should have a decent version ready for you fairly soon :)

    I have a lot to do on a daily basis with some of the guys who "invented" java because of the services we provide and I can honestly say, they completely disagree that it's slow and resource intensive. I don't mean they say it but really hand on heart know it's bad, they really just don't see it. Amazes me every day it really does

    I mean great if you have to write something that will work on many platforms, fine, give up a bit of speed for that but otherwise :/
