    Thanks all :D

Brit, I'm not surprised to hear that her school won't allow it...I was quite afraid Baleigh's wouldn't either (it wouldn't have stopped me, I'd have just been ready for a fight ) I think it's absolutely ridiculous, too. As long as it doesn't become a learning distraction; creative control over a child's hair seems a relatively small thing to offer which can bring about huge results in behavior and responsibility.

i would definitely fight it if it were just me that would be involved but her school has a 'different' approach to things. For example they decided last summer that the children were to have a set uniform for PE (previously it had just been a tshirt and shorts and tracksuit for the winter) well i had just bought her some more PE clothes so i said to her ok we will wear these out and then i'll get you the colour the school wants. (bare in mind that as she goes to a state school they have no right to insist on a uniform at primary level) Anyway they told Caitlin that if she didn't have the correct gym kit that she would lose golden time. Caitlin was really upset by all this. I really give up with the school and if it were my choice (a lot of other stuff has gone on) i would move her but she has just over a year left and she doesn't want to move again and lose friend. Phew rant over lol - sorry Bailey x
