it just occurred to me Lent starts tomorrow
is anyone giving anything up?
i think i may give sweeties/candy up- it may help with the bikini quest- the weight's not coming off very quickly but i'm shrinking
Yes, today is Mardi Gras!
Not sure about the giving up food items. We don't deviate much from our diet as it is. Perhaps cut down on some of the nicer bits of meat?
I could give up being grumpy I suppose, but then what would I be?
No need to answer that!
One of my favourite lines "do you wake up grumpy in the morning" ............"no l let him lie in"
I refuse to give anything up ,think this hankers back to my catholic upbringing and being made to.
Doesn't it though, Siobhan? I remember Lent being a very austere time. My birthday fell during Lent from time to time and that was always an issue. My Mother wanted me to have a cake, and my Da always said it was Lent so no cake. No wonder I'm not much for birthdays eh?
My birthday is also always in Lent but thankfully my Mother isn't Catholic. You have never seen children eat cake so quickly before my Dad came home.
It's all the usual for me...chocolate, crisps, biscuits. Stuffing my face today so I can last till Easter :)
