Our Irish perpetual calendar has this comment for today, March 1:

"Brave old Ireland is the land of Fairies, but of all the various descriptions there isn't one to be compared with the Leprechaun, in the regard of cunning and 'cuteness. Now if you don't know what a Leprechaun is, I'll tell you. Why, then-save us and keep us from harm, for they are queer chaps to gosther about- a Leprechaun is the fairies' shoemaker: and a mighty conceited little fellow he is, I assure you, and very mischievous..." John Brougham

There is something a little special, a little nice about starting a new month on the first day of the week. I always think of March as the month of Ireland, for St. Patrick's day of course, but also because it seems "green" to me. Maybe because spring should be starting in many places, I don't know. Maybe because the old saying, "comes in like a lion (or lamb) goes out like a lamb (or lion)" always imparted a sense of the magical to me? I don't know!

I do know, I like the saying on the calendar, no surprise as it mentions faeries, and I wondered what you thought of March, months that begin on Sunday and faeries? :D :D :D (Not to mention leprechauns and the Irish). :D

The month of March, Tink, belongs to the Irish of course!

It's like a fresh start isn't it - gone with the winter (hopefully), the start of a fresh new season.

And of course we have Mothers Day in March too.

And what a beautiful start to March it is.

The sun is shining, the wind is blowing and the washing is on the line.

And it's another month closer to Disney!
