A suburban mother who claimed she and her daughter had been abducted and stuffed in a car trunk is in custody in Florida after the pair were found at Disney World, where they had flown hours after reporting their abduction, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
A Pennsylvania mother made frantic calls to 911 to say she and her 9-year-old daughter had been abducted and stuffed in the trunk of a car. But a law enforcement official said Bonnie Sweeten and her daughter Julia Rakoczy, were found Wednesday at Walt Disney World in Florida. The mother was taken into custody, the official said.
Bonnie Sweeten, 38, of Feasterville, and daughter Julia Rakoczy, 9, boarded a flight from Philadelphia to Orlando at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, just over two hours after Sweeten made several 911 calls to report an abduction, according to the official. The official also said Sweeten was traveling under a false name. The person spoke on condition of anonymity pending an FBI news conference expected late Wednesday night.
It was also stated on NBC 11 PM news that :
Bonnie Sweeten borrowed a co workers license and used her name to obtain airline tickets after draining $12,000. from her ex husbands bank account . Must have looked like her co worker is the only thing I can think of .
An Amber Alert was issued and pleas for their safe return from her ex husband and family members were plastered all over our news yesterday .
She apparantly called WDW central reservations after arriving at MCO and booked a room at The Grand Floridian .
She is now in custoday and the ex husband is on his way to WDW to pick up his daughter . My thought is Disney will allow them to stay for a few days . The poor little girl must be traumatized .
And there has to be definitely something wrong with the mothers mental state .
