IMHO we are all entitled to a bit of fantasy irregardless of our religious beliefs. If we turn against HP then shouldn't we also turn against Shakespeare, Dickens, King Arthur, etc. etc. ?

Ummm... firstly, HP is a work of fiction. Secondly, being a Magician of any kind doesn't preclude religious beliefs.

Yeah but you try and explain that bit about the magic to non-believers.

Regardless of common legend, it can be argued that modern religious belief has arisen from the traditions and practices that we have come to call "magic" or "craft." Pagan beliefs (beliefs of the people) were based in a natural order of things, on the laws of the universe as they once were thought to exist. Many of the current christian based holidays for instance, have deep roots and abiding traditions that come directly and solely from those pre-christian practices and beliefs.

Religion is a volatile subject to be sure, and honestly? I'd not find it an appropriate discussion for the workplace.

Merlin's Beard, this is a hot topic. ;)

Did your work people not see that this movie is rated VA (Vatican Approved).

HP is the classic Good vs. Evil. Not matter who you are or what you believe there should be nothing wrong with that.

Sorry, gotta get back to my Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
