DS (11) left Primary School today Not sure where the last 6 years have gone. They were very lucky as two of the mums organised a fantastic ball for them on Monday night at a local golf course. Daniel and his friends went in a (pink! ) Limo.

Very emotional day today - managed to get through it without any public displays of blubbering - which is a major achievement for me. Had leaky eyes though when I read his dictionary signed by all the teachers and he got an achievement award at assembly this morning for 'his determination to improve in all areas of school life and for his maturity and kindness'.

    Some photos

    Daniel and his friend

    Friends

Two Cinderellas who didn't go to the ball - DD Caitlin (8) and her friend.

Glad it's all over and I have finished work for the summer holidays as well so it's all good! Bring on WDW!

That's a wonderful memory for them, the photos are fantastic! How smart does he look, bless him!

My nieces school did that too, she was at a different school but in the same year as Jamie - all his school did was a 2 hour BBQ in the playground

Can't see the first three pics hun but they looked lovely and like they were having a good time.

I can remember when my two were in year 6 and they finished I think I was an emotional wreck, its a big step for some children going in to senior school and I wish your son all the best.

Thanks everyone - I am so glad we had the ball - we did hear quite a lot of negative comments from certain parents tht it was a ridiculous thig to do for 11 year olds, too over the top and that they won't enjoy their 'real' prom when they leave secondary school.

Well the kids all had a fantastic time and were impeccably well behaved and were a credit to the school, they ave some great memories to take with them to their new schools - I'm sure they will all manage to enjoy their 'real' prom
