This is for me and 1 6 year old and is only for stuff that I have bought because it's the holidays. Not things like football boots because I would have bought them anyway.

    Saturday

Worthing Festival - 11 - spent on various inflatable type attractions although mostly on the helter skelter.

    Sunday

At parents all day - they don't charge. :D

    Monday

Swimmming - 9.35 for the 2 of us, 5.50 for a floaty foam noodle thingy, 8.35 for lunch in Burger King (he asked nicely and he only asks about once a year for fast food)

    Tuesday

Arundel Castle - Nanny paid for entrance. Picnic and drinks for 3 provided by Marks and Spencer - 20. Souvenir sword and shield - 14. Car parking for day - 5.

    Wednesday

Went to library in the morning - free, and took dog out in afternoon - also free.

    Thursday

Spent day at my parents and we went on trip to local garden centre. Spent a small fortune but none specific to holiday.

    Friday

Park - 3.20 parking. 1 for session in ball pen/play area. 2 for us to have a train ride. 1 ice cream. 1.50 for water pistol so Steven could join in with the water pistol battle in the paddling pool.

    Total for week 1 - 91.90

Glad I've only got 1 child.

I'm glad mine have laptops, guitars and are old enough to go out and entertain themselves.

Although 3 weeks of the holidays have cost me a fortune!

    Mine's only 6 though.

Although...I could probably send him up chimneys a couple of days a week to fund our activities.

I know where you're coming from on this one. I'm counting the cost of Longleat. Only one day and it cost me 156 for the four of us.

It doesn't end when they've all grown up........................... I'm taking the granchildren to Legoland and have decided it would be fun to stay overnight in a hotel with us all in one room for some Nana/Angel fun!! I'll also be doing the ball parks, soft play parks and the cinema. I do get to give them back at the end of it all though - so costs me less in paracetamol

Yikes! I'm guessing your "summer" costs are pretty moderate, Dawn. But, good grief! That's a lot of money!

Good thing I don't have children--I would be perpetually broke!

And you're doing terrific things with Steven, not just sending him off on his own.
