We were able to book three Fastpasses at animal kingdom a few days back without staying on site. We chose the safari, lion king show and the finding Nemo show. We were told within a few weeks it would apply to all parks.

I've heard about that on a few podcasts now. How well did it work for you?

We got one for the Lion King Show in August.

You go in through another door (the exit door) and sit in the section to the right of that door.
Still have to be there around 15mins before showtime

I'm not sure I'd use FP for shows though.... even in the height of summer when we go it's never hard to get in. Not sure the same could be said for this time of year though :-D

We used the fastpass for Fantasmic the day after Thanksgiving. It was quite nice to walk past everyone in that huge line

And there, IMHO, lies the major problem with the new FP+. You can only get 3 per day and only in one park. If you decide to use one of them for a show that only leaves 2 for other attractions. Also, I have heard that even having a FP+ for Fantasmic does not guarantee you will get into see it. I really think Disney needs to rethink this a bit.

At EPCOT both Soarin' and Test Track are primary attractions and you can't get FP+ for both of them. If the standard FP goes away then, in busier times, you will have to stand in one of those long lines to ride whichever one you don't get the FP+ for.

I'm with you there john! I hate them only allowing one major ride per day! The whole point of the system was to give choice, to me, this makes it worse, as we could easily get a FP for more than one major attraction before

We had Magic Bands this past Nov and it was not a good time. They changed the Fastpass+ so that you could only get 1 major ride and then 2 minor rides (this was not being implemented at MK). The minor rides did not need a FP+ at all! The Fastpass lines had huge lines which made it appear that it was a longer wait than the stand by lane (doubtful that it was but it just appeared that way).

You can change the Fastpass+ but even with the wifi in the parks, it is a huge drain on my iPhone.
