good hoop dee doo as ever :) shows just how popular frozen is though. Polite applause through the whole show until they did a bit of a skit on frozen and the crowd went totally wild. Literally cheering so loud it hurt  Signs up all over saying frozen merchandise limited to 1 per person etc.

New automated immigration machines at Orlando Airport.

When we got off the plane, first yay, we rushed down to immigration only to be met with a full flight of Thomas Cook passengers boo. I've never seen so few agents on the desks :/ Perhaps 3 or 4 total? Anyway, they were picking out people without kids to use the new machines so we were moved to the front to use one of them.

Clever stuff really. Very easy to use, asks a few questions, gets you to scan your fingers and then the camera on a stalk moves up and down to get you in the frame before taking a shot.

We filled everything in and then it printed a receipt with a huge cross over it to indicate failed. As we continued through, they were directing ones which had worked to desk 1 and failed to desk 2. I'd say it was about 60% failed, 40% passed. There was no indication what failed and they weren't telling.

The "passes" went to a guy behind a mobile desk who really scrutinised the passport photo and asked a few questions before letting them go.

We took our receipt to desk 2 who did the usual finger scans, photo (again) and asked the same old questions prior to letting us through. Although it DID feel faster, as if he didn't have to do quite as much typing/checking on the computer plus we'd bypassed a whole load of the queue!

All in all, really quite a cute system except a) it didn't seem to work for over half the people and b) the silly final check which feels like a "well we have to have a human involved" thing

I'm sure it'll get better as time goes on and it should really improve things *IF* they increase the number of machines and don't just keep a few machines whilst getting rid of all the agents.

Great photos Keith....it seemed like Helen was having a good time.
Wise move there...hiding behind the camera so you don`t get picked on.

Wellllll that's my usual plan but last night it was dangerous, they were specifically picking on people and saying "you can't hide behind that camera" and "do you really think drinking that beer will stop us picking on you"

    gulp

    Off to Berns this evening!

I`m glad to see that Bern`s is still up to scratch Keith. [I assume that you didn`t go for the $ 50,000 bottle of wine though!]
I must re-visit there when we are next over in Florida.

I'm a medium rare guy myself. I've never been to Berns, in fact Ive never heard of it. In all my trips I have never eaten at any Steakhouses off property. Which place would you recommend I try first? I have eaten at most steakhouses here in NYC, I wouldn't mind trying something new on my next trip.

I haven't been to Bern's in a couple of decades :rolleyes2: I don't believe Donna has ever been there. Is it coat and tie or business casual, I forget? Is that one dish French Onion Soup?

yep! lovely french onion soup. Business casual is more than fine for there

It's amazingly good and and cheap compared with Disney prices!

With any Entree, you get the french onion soup with biscuits, a huge salad (which I swapped for potato skins with bbq short rib) and a huge loaded baked potato. Extras which would cost you more in most other steakhouses.
