Have you ever been to Animal Kingdom in the evening when it is getting dark? I know it closes a lot earlier than other parks, with the latest being 8pm in the summer. We have often driven home and seen the cars in the car park, but it is one place we have never been later on in the day. Is it worth visiting or are most the attractions, entertainment and meet and greets closed?
No, we have only done it in the morning and usually leave after lunch apart from the couple if times we've stayed for the parade
You will find that the animal enclosures and the Kilimanjaro Safari close at dusk, rides and shows stay open until closing.
We stayed at the resort last time and got to see some of the animals at night or at least into the early evening. It was cool. You might want to hit the resort and have a drink and then go out to see the critters.
When the kids were younger and I didn't have to browbeat them into watching the parade with me we used to LOVE watching the parade right by the "Camp Minnie Mickey" sign. Just as the parade ended, we'd make a b-line for the last showing of "Festival of The Lion King" - as everyone was pouring out of the park, we were watching the show. It was perfect timing. Afterwards, we'd stroll through the park, taking in some of the scenery and just wander. The park is beautiful at sunset. I swear the trees just sing...
I might actually try and make it one evening, it would be nice to see Animal Kingdom and get some different photos
It's actually supposed to be closing at 8pm for the last few days we are there in September, it may very well change though as we get closer.
I think there is a later closing when we are there too, hope it stays that way as I would love to see it in the evening!
