    Hello,

I am quite excited about the announcement on 9th Sept.

The invitation looks fab and I wonder what the "Wish we could say more," implies...

Do you think we will see two different sizes iPhone and iwatch?

they've moved the announcement to a much larger venue AND built a custom two floor demo area... so I think/hope we can look forward to a significant announcement.

My thought is, 4.7 available from the following friday, 5.5 two/three/four weeks later and a "one more thing" of an iwatch with health sensors to integrate with the phones health app but not available until... hmmmm, they'll REALLY want it out for the christmas season so early dec but I can't see volume until next year.

I'd love there to be other stuff too :D but I reckon ipad announcements will be oct and nothing MEGA exciting there, just evolution.

There's still the 4k apple monitors/imacs to come and Apple TV at some point

So will people want the smaller or larger iPhone. TBH I prefer smaller as it has to sit in my pocket and the huge galaxies look far far too cumbersome
I hope they have the same processor speed etc

hehe this has been the subject of heated discussions for weeks now

The 4.7" is, IMHO, the absolute limit for the reach of my fingers. I tend to keep the phone in my shirt pocket, again, anything larger than 4.7 will be too big. Then I pull the phone with one hand and just fire off a text or whatever.... I can't do that with the larger phones. So 4.7 is in my opinion a very clever size, as large as it could be whilst still being usable one handedly.

Now the 5.5". Well I tried one recently and it's interesting. It completely changed the way I used the phone. Couldn't keep it in shirt pocket, too large and prone to falling out.... when I did use it, I had to hold it in one hand and tap the screen with the other. That having been said, web sites were actually properly usable on it! Everything was wonderfully large and readable. Making phone calls on it was awkward, felt like holding a slab to my ear.

So I dunno really! I think most people would be best with the 4.7" really but the 5.5 will be a joy for people prepared to make the compromise

I had galaxy S4 and it was big and got used to it eventually. Quite like how I can type with one hand on iphone5 but will have a play with both as my contract end may next year so should have enough time to read reviews etc

so that was a 5inch screen on that S4.... now I have a 5inch nokia 930 here and I reckon it's just too large for my one hand. I have to kinda juggle it a bit  to go from the bottom of the screen to the top. It LOOKS delicious and a whole lot different from the tiny iphone but it does annoy me. Now, another guy in the office could just about manage with no jiggling and so 5" was perfect for him.

Everyone told me I'd get used to it in time and yeah I probably would but it didn't feel IDEAL. and certainly larger would definitely make it unusable one handed.

So in a way it is individual to the person involved but this is why I think Apple have been very clever with 4.7".... I think 4.7 will give apple folks a nicer screen but still one handable :) to go 5.5 it will be a complete change of how it's used and a definite decision rather than a "hmmm PERHAPS 5.5 would still work one handed" cos unless youre an octopus, it just won't

I agree also want to see how the ios8 pan out before making decision. I struggled to use swype with one one on S4. Be interesting to see what kind do 3rd party keyboard we will be having.

yeah... now, swype on this windows phone nokia 930 is AMAZING! I thought it would be total rubbish but wow, so so impressive. I know swype really is a very individual decision but I got used to it in no time

What I AM loving about ios8 is that with the new OS on desktop/laptop, I can leave my phone on charge somewhere and all my imessages/texts/phone calls will come into the computer instead! really sweet that

    But unfortunately......

    So be careful Keith :D

I'll go smaller and may well have a white one this time, for the lovely screen I have my iPad , no need to have anything massive and a 5 inch screen wouldn't fit in my pocket

yeah that's my thinking too... ipad for anything larger.

I've ALWAYS gone for black... my work colleagues tried white last time and ALL of them have said they want black next time but I fancy white  I guess it's just fancying something different

I STILL have a mint in the box untouched unlocked iPhone 5s gold 32gb that I can't sell even at £400 which is leaving me in total £300 out of pocket :(

I really really wanted to try gold when I got the 5s but they were rarer than rocking horse poo so I settled for black.. problem is with the 6 coming out, the 5s is a hard sell :/ and give it two weeks and the price will be lower still. It's a shame as the 5s is a truly awesome phone

Nah , the colour looks really nice in the flesh - just not happy to eBay it as there is a lot of scamming going on with phones
