The kids were there in early December, and they said it was incredible.

Though, if I'm being honest, I think they enjoyed Springfield with the Simpsons more.

I haven't been yet since we dont like the universal thrill rides (or rather the IOA ones) but I think the expansion with diagon alley will make it worth our while to try

Although harry potter is a bit of a dim memory for me now tbh ... feels like it was a hundred years ago

    I'm bursting!

    ...Err.... With excitement, I mean.

I was reading an article yesterday in which Universal said they were really going to take the fight to Disney. While I'm not sure they will compete with the sheer number of guests visiting Disney, they can make some serious headway in the appeal of their parks. Either way, a competition between theme parks can only be good news for us.

We hadn't seen the films or read the books so we thought it might be a good idea to watch the films. We tried and got half way through the box set and gave up

The films weren't the best :( I mean fair play to Danielle Radcliffe who did a good job but omg Emma Watson (and she's been rubbish in everything since too).

...but nah, the films, despite the money spent, were nowhere near as engaging as the books.

I really didn't want to like the books but I did despite myself.

I started the books because Andrew was interested in them and then got caught up in them myself...read them at the same time as some very dear friends, and had some of the BEST conversations about them!

Baleigh and her friend went for a single day last year while on their cruise and her friend loved it so much at universal, she came home and read every book!

I hasn't read or watched any of the movies but then my friend Sherrina asked me to go to see the midnight showing of the next to last movie. I said yes and decided I should read the books. I was able to read 4 before we went and googled info on the rest. Knowing an ending beforehand doesn't bother me. I read the other. 3 books and then we visited IOA.

Spoiler alert. Even though it's been years and you should know how this ends by now lol. But I'm being nice

Ok so I had read all the books when we visited yet the very last movie hadn't come out yet. My favorite character is Snape as I adore Alan Rickman. So, Snape is actually a good guy!!! I was lamenting the fact that there was no merchandise with Snape and one of CM's (well they all stayed in perfect character) was telling me how bad he was and how he had killed Dumbledore. Apparently they were on movie time as opposed to book time.

I can't wait. Love the Harry Potter ride at Universal already so I'm looking forward to the new addition. Have to say after visiting Harry Potter Studios in Watford I wish we could have the rides over here in the UK.

Not bad my lovely, I said I'd be back. Things have slowed down a bit now that we're finally in our new scout hut. We had scout camp this weekend and I'm still getting over it even now. How are you my lovely lady?

I'm glad you're in your scout hut, you worked hard to make it happen.

I'm fine, can't believe we are in February already, it will be Christmas before we know it

I know February already, scary. We're off to Paris in April for Meg's birthday. That trip only seems round the corner.

You know what she's like about Paris, she's Paris mad. We've even decorated her room in a french style complete with the Eiffel tower.
