After extensive negotiation between myself and DW, we do indeed have 6a&k. DW didnt enjoy UC very much last time because as a nervous flyer, she felt very alone when she was in the "pod" behind me. So, having shown her 6a&k she's a little more willing to give UC a chance!

Well there'll be no danger of me doing that unless the plane has a whip round and there's significant money involved! (either way, to take them off or keep them on, if there's enough cash in it, I'm not fussy)

Ahem, excuse me ladies and gentlemen, you appear to have moved a million miles away from Oreo's original question. Just sayin'. :)

It's brilliant Jeff, you go to DTD near Cirque in the car park and there is a covered area where Virgin can check in passengers for their flights to London and Manchester.

It costs $10 if you haven't booked your holiday through Virgin Holidays. I think it is open from 8am - 1pm, I'll check that, and basically you take your luggage with you and check in just the same as you would at the airport.

The best part is if you have checked in your luggage you have the rest of the day free to do whatever you like without worrying about your luggage. You also don't have to get to the airport so early.

yep 8-1pm but it's a STRICT 1pm... they start closing about 10 mins before and shut on the dot. We scurried across the car park at about 12:50pm on one rainy day after being stuck in traffic, and though they accepted us, they dealt with us very quickly and pulled the shutters down.

It's a really wonderful service and well worth $10 IMHO. We started using it after spending nearly 2 hours at orlando airport queuing at the checkin desk when several flights were due to leave at the same time.

Checking in at DTD, the luggage gets sent so the next time we see it is Manchester. We can turn up at the airport and go straight to security.

I REALLY miss it when we use other airlines

You won't be paying the $10 each on your next trip, it's free for UC :D
