I give you...the cronut!
Must try next visit
What is it?
It's a cross between a croissant and a doughnut. I've not tried one, as I honestly don't much care for either!
How was it Becca? Light, and cinnamony?
As I am REALLY working to stay somewhat on track while vacationing, we bought one and shared it between the 3 of us. I had a single bite and passed it off to the girls who devoured it. Yes, it was very flaky and light with lots of cinnamon and sugar. The girls LOVED it and are already clamoring for another. I enjoyed the bite I had, but it was more than enough for me! Definitely worth a try!
It looks, tasty.
Even the local bakery we use has them. They are tempting, but I am fairly able to resist since doughnuts hurt my stomach, and I've never liked the overly oily consistency of any croissant that I've ever had. So, for now, I'm safe!
It's hard to stay on track at Disney, but having a taste of things can be offset by the increased walking, yes?
Yes, totally agree.
Not sure how far the average person walks while at Disney but I'm sure it offsets anything eaten during your trip
Isn't that the truth! We have walked more during this trip than any trip I have ever taken! We hit at least 2 parks every day, and 4 parks on Saturday! Just the walking to and from the bus was enough burn off a good number of calories!
ooohhh I must try. Normally I like to go to gym as well as walking so it offset all the calories and in theory I can eat pretty much anything.
However, I do have a theory..... any food in WDW is free of calories
The cronut is amazing. It started out in NY and was invented by a French pastry chef and the dough is a cross between a croissant and a donut.
The queues at his bakery every day are ridiculous with people willing to pay others to line up from early morning just to get one. This is the Youtube video about where it all started.
I managed to get one in Fortnum and Masons. It was gorgeous beyond words.
I need to try the WDW one Becca! It looks yum.
I think I read somewhere that it's about 11 miles per day? Not sure about that, but it does sound reasonable. I know that when we used to park in the Boardwalk resort parking lot (the one furthest from the door) and walk into the EPCOT and once around the world showcase and back to the car it was three miles. Once around the world showcase is one mile. So, if you use that as a bit of a gauge you can see the miles really add up fast!
Oh heck yeah I'm trying one...or two. I'm flipping gonna be on vacation and a walking one at that. Chasing a 3 and 1 year old around isn't bad enough...the 10 and 12 year old will be all LET'S GO HERE!!! So I'm buying some and sticking them in my handy dandy Mickey insulated backpack for an energy boost all day!
