We'd like to take our family Christmas card picture while at Magic Kingdom. I understand they'll be putting up Christmas decorations around the time we're there. Does anyone have any good recommendations on where in the park to take one?

    1) To the left of the hub as you cross the bridge into Liberty Square/Frontierland - Castle in the background w/ all the lights...GORGEOUS!
    2) Just outside Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square (there's even a little snowscape, if I'm not mistaken...)
    3) Stereotypical, but you can't beat the middle of Main Street - especially in the evening when it's all lit up!
    4) Not sure if you're doing MVMCP - but if so, I'm sure there will be loads of opps during that!

I'll add more as I think of them!

If you want less crowds to deal with, consider visiting one of the deluxe resorts and taking a photo in front of their tree. They are glorious and each is very, very different from the other. You could do both, and then choose! :D

That's a great idea on the Disney Resorts. We have friends staying at Swan and Dolphin, will they have a tree too. Our dates are 11/15 to 11/24, will that be too early for the resort Xmas trees?

The Swan and Dolphin do have Christmas trees. I honestly don't know if it will be too early. The closer you get to Thanksgiving the better your chances are of seeing the decorations go up in the hotels. They used to put them up immediately after Thanksgiving, but they do it much earlier now. I just don't know how early the hotels start decorating.

Yeah and there is usally a sleigh to get your picture in...

The trees in some of the lobby areas of the resorts are wonderful. I was thinking of AKL and BW. They are just beautiful.

If you happend to get to HS, the little snow scene besides Mama Melrose's or with the Osborne lights in the city scape.

Not sure if this is the right place for the question but since we're discussing the Christmas decorations for cards...When do they start putting the decorations up. I realize it's earlier now since the first Christmas party is right before Veteran's Day but will the park be decorated too?

MK will be decorated in time for the first MVMCP. The rest of WDW gets decorated over time, approaching Thanksgiving.
