We decided for our October trip that we wouldn't do any table service restaurants. However, we did want to do BOG lunch as we really enjoyed that last time. So we've just been on as it's our 180 day window and got a lunch reservation! It's all starting to get real now!

That's in interesting way to go, I have a feeling that for next years trip we won't do many ADR's as the other half hates planning holidays too much (I AM going to plan everything, then just try to guide her in these directions). What sort of places are you planning on eating at?

Well, this is also the first time we've been off the dining plan, so we want to see how far we can stretch our money.
We'll be doing all counter service this trip, but we're also doing food and wine, so we're really looking forward to experiencing that.

I think you will enjoy the change up, Vikki. It's a different level of dining, but the counter service places are quite good overall. Especially, if you stay away from the usual burgers and stuff. I'm sure you have the places you want to try, so I'll not go on about which is what, blah, blah, blah.

Food and Wine is super fun, but it is definitely NOT cost effective. As long as you understand that you will be spending more than you would overall, for a sit down meal, you'll be fine. Unless, of course you eat like birds. Then the food and wine is not overly expensive.

You will love the Food and Wine Festival but as Tink said it's not cheap. I love being able to wander round and just "pick" as we are going round. I have my favourite kiosks though and I tend to go straight to them rather than try new things

Food and Wine is very nice and you can try all sorts of lovely treats. Like the others said, it can get pricy! They typically sell little wristband gift cards. You could put some money on one of those to make you not think about the prices lol

I think the wristband is the way to go. We're considering putting the kids in a kids club for the evening and just the two of us going along for a couple of hours.

We always load up one of the wrist bands. The receipt will show you the balance.

Can you not charge them to your magic bands then?
