    Hello,

I had an idea this morning we are staying at AKL for two weeks but thought it would be nice to stay elsewhere for one night (silly idea I know)

I am toying with an idea of staying at Grand Floridian....

How would you do this? Which website would you use?

    Jeff

It's not silly at all IMHO, I've done it a few times to get a taste of somewhere else. I've stayed one night at the GF and done V&A etc. whilst there.

Generally I just book on the disney site. It's very easy to book and cancel if your plans change

I assume you'd keep your exisiting booking for that one night?

I looked into this to stop at the Contemporary.

Websites like expedia tend to come up a lot cheaper, and if you are keeping your other room I would be tempted to see what other sites have to offer. Especially as your magic bands etc shouldnt be affected.

yep! that's about right  You can try different dates, it's cheaper mid week than weekend etc.. but generally speaking GF is gonna cost an arm a leg and a kidney or two

I had a look at trip advisors and GF does look old? Not sure if it has 'disney magic'?

I had a look at Bay Tower and it looks quite 'adult' as we prefer something very 'disney' which is similar to AKL.

We are thinking of staying CSR for one night as it is our favourite resort.... but on another hand if we going to stay elsewhere we should stay at a resort that we have not been......

GF is elegant more than anything. Its definitely not modern styling but it wouldn't fit if it was. It's a very nice place to spend a night that's for sure BUT in my humble opinion, you can get a lot of the feeling just by spending the evening there anyway. After all, if you book a night, you get the evening which you could spend there anyway, then you're asleep

Bay lake tower has no real feel to it in my experience. There's no real centre to it IMHO people just sleep there and then walk across to the contemporary. The stunningly wonderful potential of BLT is its closeness to the Magic Kingdom. So if you get a theme park view you can go to sleep watching the castle and even if you dont, you can walk across to MK in 5 mins with the walk way.

Thats the really great part of BLT other than that it feels modern, adult and not especially disney

yeah thing is, where you're booked is SO SO SO good I'm not sure you'll miss anywhere else this time around to be honest. I'm kinda not sure it's worth a night elsewhere just to do it unless there's something mega special at that resort.

I'm struggling with the same choices myself! part of me says a few nights at the contemporary but it's kinda a waste tbh :/

Jeff I go there every vacation and it is definitely not an adult resort. I think the YC is more adult that BC. It's a wonderful resort and I would live there if I could

I must admit, and I know I'm in a complete minority of one here, I didn't enjoy the Beach Club.

The location is great for EPCOT no doubt about that but once that's over I was a bit underwhelmed.

The shop is nice but as with the YC, we just went from our room and out, there was no real centre feel to the hotel if that makes any sense. Whereas with AKL I could easily spent a day wandering around the hotel, I don't know what there is to look at in BC.

It's the pool! I hate being in a bathing suit in public but I absolutely loved the pool!

Oh yes I remember reading about that now, not sure if I would want to be in the middle of a building site, it might not be too bad though??
