seemlingly butterbeer is the drink at harry potters
yeah! wonder what it tastes like....
Who's going to be the first to go there from secrets I wonder
I saw the report on the channel 6 news page -entertainment
I saw them advertising it when they did the coverage for the grand opening. It's roughly $10 or so a mug.
Can't say as I'll be the first to go, but I will be interested in hearing what the first Secrets member has to say!
Our boys are desperate to have some butter beer
TEN DOLLARS A MUG ? Quite Pricey and I wanted to try it , but for $10.00 and not even an alcohol drink, they can keep it .
Quite a few owners I know have tried it and not liked it as it is very sickly sweet.
I thought it would be as i had read something about it during the soft opening, so I'm going to steer clear of it.
I'd pay $10 I've waited since they first mentioned it in the book - probalem is there is no way it will taste anything like how I imagine it
never meet your heroes
maybe its just a bottle of bud with a nob of butter in the top instead of a lime
It's the drink they serve in the new Harry Potter World.
A fellow owner just went last week and wrote this:-
Then we lined up for a Butterbeer. Bleagghhhh. God, it's horrible. I mean, I didn't expect much but at $10 I thought it might not make me feel sick! I know I didn't need the souvenir mug, but...don't do it. The pumpkin juice looked better - didn't try it.
It's all down to personal taste but I realy don't think I'd like it and for $10 wold rather buy something else.
i just checked out various recipes for it....sounds yuk!
then whole park should have been in England IMHO
it was our one great chance to have our own 'Disney'
You have a point, Doc. (Hey, meeting your heros isn't always bad! I met my English hero and came away more awed)!
We're going in November, can't wait!!!
I had Barnes & Noble's version at the Midnight Party for the third book...sort of a hot buttered rum type drink...not AWFUL, but very, very sweet...Andrew and I split it and neither of us could finish it....
agreed, huge opportunity missed IMHO
I *heard* it tastes a bit like caramel. We will try it, we'll buy one and share it at that price. You just have to try it don't you.
Apparently the frozen version is nicer. I will get one for all of us to try, I'm a sucker for stuff like that!
I had no clue what it was supposed to taste like. I'm ummm...not a huge Potter fan... heh, heh, heh.
I've read the first books but never did make it to the last. One of my neices however, is a HUGE fan and cannot BELIEVE that I am not madly in love with Potter.
At any rate, it's quite the place from all accounts and I do hope Universal did a great job of it. Regardless of my personal tastes, it's a story line that lends itself to an incredible recreation!
I might like one of those broomsticks though.
I wont be going to universal this year as i am not a potter fan
