If I really do try it and feel that way, I won't be able to login, I'll be on Orlando news as madman sits under table at apple store sobbing and refuses to come out

    I know... :brightidea:

Keith, while you're there in Orlando, grab a Mac, bring up iChat and ping me. We can start a video chat and I'll record it with Quicktime. You can do a onsite review of the iPad live from the Apple store in Orlando then I'll run it up on Youtube and post it on Secrets.

Just be sure to wear your disguise! :embarassed2:

    Tom :)macwave:... what fun!)

Thank you all. Looks like I may need to buy in Cardiff when I am there. Wonder if my friend will be willing to get up super early for me to buy one ;)

:D I like all this talk of iPads. Keith, if it's cheaper in the UK (which I know won't happen) would you hold out and get it in the UK?

I reallllllllyyy hope apple keep the 'magical' price in the UK, too

Tom... is there a version of 'Ping' for the iPad? It's an instant messenger that works iphone>iphone, much like Blackberry's BBM messenger.

 that's a good one Josh, very amusing indeed hehehehe cheaper in the UK hehheheheheh thanks, thats given me a good laugh :D

More seriously, if it were £50 cheaper or something then yeah I probably would wait but all my history with Apple says that it'll be between £25 and £75 more expensive in the UK

Considering you thought of going into marketing once, you're totally misreading the ad! They said it's a "magical" product at an "UNBELIEVABLE" price! as in "OMG I cant BELIEVE It's so expensive over here!!!!!!!" ;-)

By Gary Fung? Yep. New version just released April 2nd. Costs $2.99. I attached a couple of screen shots from the US iTunes store.

Tom :)macwave:... great... another way for people you don't want to hear from to get in touch with you!)

I am not sure how to work this out  So could you give me a rough example?

Maths never have been my strongest subject ( I tries to explain to someone another day that 120 seconds is too long, all I wanted is two minutes!) :embarassed2:

Well it's only guesswork and heck it could be cheaper for all I know!

...but basically if you look at a unit over there

    $499 + TAX (7%) = $534 ÷ (exchange rate) say 1.5 = £356

Now many people are hoping that the ipad in the UK will be £399 (which I think is a bit optimistic but POSSIBLE!!!) in which case depending on the exchange rate, it'd be about £45 more expensive in real terms over here than in the US.

Of course, they could make it £350 which would be mega nice

The ones I've found best that goes across MSN/Yahoo etc etc are Trillian, Palringo and Beejive

There is a fantastic app called 'whatsapp' that is free for blackberrys and about 99p for iPhones. You can send instant messages between you both much like MSN but it works by address book contacts and is much more integrated

For iPhone-iPhone, Ping! is the best  it's really light weight and simple to use, you just add someones username in and then you can chat to them. If anyone downloads it, feel free to add me: parrysite
