...ok, go with me here :)

We are trying to piggyback my parents' visit (tentatively scheduled for 9/24-9/29) onto our visit already scheduled for 9/29-10/5.

The visit with my parents will be a Disney package including room (Ft. Wilderness), tickets and (free) dining. With that package we will be purchasing 6 day park hoppers; however, the second leg of our vacation (9/29-10/5, for only Jon and I) was booked by renting DVC points (with no tickets and no dining).

So my question is this -
Instead of purchasing a new set of tickets for the second leg of our trip, can Jon and I simply add on a few days to our already existing tickets from the package (making them 10 day tickets) as long as we do so before using the last day of the 6-day ticket? I seem to recall doing this with Andrew once before (he wanted an extra day in the park, and we preferred to stick by the pool), but I'm trying to think if there's any reason why this wouldn't work?

Everybody clear? Does anyone need a drink?

Your mum and dad will love Wilderness Lodge.

As far as I know you can add extra days to tickets, I thought it was before you used any days but that might be me getting confused over changing a uk 21 day pass for an annual pass.

I know Disney do it though so you shouldn't have a problem.

Just out of interest, can you add a single day to a ticket?

We have a 14 day ticket which we can either use our first full day (second day of trip) or on our last day. We'd like to watch the fireworks on the night we arrive however it means buying an extra day ticket for either the day we arrive or our last day.

I don't think you can with the UK 14 day tickets. It's always worth asking though.

Our tickets are different to the US ones and work out a lot cheaper. It's never worth buying a 1 day ticket in the US though it's silly money.

I know you can upgrade a 21 day ticket to an annual pass. So give it a try :)

I thought that was the case. To be honest we arrive in the evening and I personally think we will be tired and probably isn't worth the cost of a day ticket. But, i've been out voted sadly. lol

My other suggestion was watching the fireworks elsewhere or going to downtown disney, or even using our ticket and going over to universal for a few hours if they insist on doing something.

You could go to the Magic Kingdom and watch from the ferry dock, you get a nice view from there and I think the music is piped as well. Don't quote me on this though because I might be wrong  The view is good though.

I think if you go to the parking lot about an hour before the park closes there are no cast members in the booths. Although the parking fee would be cheaper than a 1 day ticket.

They struggle adding days to UK tickets, although in theory, there is a 21 day ticket which you should be able to upgrade to.

Last time I tried to add days, they got a little comfuddled.

When I bought US tickets, they were no problem. The rule, as Wendy said, is that it must be done before the last day is used.

And even that is negotiable - well, at least if you're a handsome young man and you bat your eyes quite nicely at the CM :)

Without thinking, Andrew used the last day of his hopper a day early last year, and as I am the single, most meanest mother on the planet (and had told him REPEATEDLY that he must add a day BEFORE he used the last day) - I told him he'd have to sort it out on his own or hang out by the pool while the rest of us went to EPCOT.

So, he went to the concierge desk of our resort and asked them EVER so politely, telling them he was sorry and hadn't thought ahead - and they added the day on for him. (Yes, yes, yes, I would have stepped in and bought the silly ticket if he was unsuccessful, but it was a good life lesson all the same.)

    Andrew is a charmer :)

And as I always say, if you don't like what one CM says, go ask another one.
