I have no idea having been on the dining plan the last few times so only eating out once or twice.

So how much are places like Bahama Breeze per head approximately (they have no prices on their websites) and going out to steak places - similar to outback and crabshack type places too?

    thank you

I've never been to Bahama Breeze but generally offsite we pay about $30 for the two of us at a cheapy Ruby Tuesday type place, about $120 for a truly wonderful Charleys meal with wine, about $100 for the same style at the columbia at celebration. Bit more if we went to Ruth's Chris.

Obviously places like longhorn etc are cheaper and there's no end of choice so you'll definitely have no problem finding places to fit whatever budget

Various factors will impact the bottom line (apps, drinks, dessert, etc) but Keith's numbers sound pretty spot on. For our family of 4 it varies mostly based on whether or not Jon and I have drinks. A basic meal at Chile's, TGIFridays, etc. will cost us about $60 +tip for the 4 of us. That usually includes an app shared between the 4 of us, an entree each, a soda/tea/water, but no alcohol drinks/dessert. If we visit an Outback/Texas Longhorn type of place, we can expect that price to increase about 15%, but at those places we tend not to have apps because we enjoy the bread on offer.

If we have a drink with our meal, we know to add about $6 for a beer for Jon and about $10 bucks for a cocktail for me.

Hmmmm...tough one. Not sure about Publix, but here in CT at Stop&Shop (comparable), depending on the cut, you'd pay about $12-$16/pound.

We bought some very nice rib eye from Publix last year and it was $28 for two steaks.

Longhorn, we always have Flo's Filet, which is about $50 with the chocolate stampeded for dessert - you have to try it and soft drinks :D They also do special menus for 2 but I can't remember how much they are sorry. If you prefer to have lunch there, they have a delicious steak roll which used to cost is $25 including soft drinks and it comes with fries or you can ask for a salad, that's what I did.

We also go to the Olive Garden, their food is really nice and inexpensive, the bowl of salad they bring round before your meal with garlic bread sticks is really nice. We pay around $40 for the both of us.

We also eat at Chilies, which again is around $40.

There are the expensive places like Keith has said.

To Wen's point...we were at Chile's the other day and they were offering a 2 for $20 deal. Two people share an app, and then each get their own entree from a list of choices for $20. Not bad deal, and I've seen this offered at a couple of restaurants.

I think that was the deal we had when we went there a few times last year. I love their ribs :)

Julie if you want a reasonably priced meal and you like pulled pork, then you have to go to Yellow Dog Eats Tink took us there one year and we've been going back ever since.

When you first drive up to it, you think "that can't be it" Inside there are wooden tables and chairs downstairs and there are also seats upstairs but I haven't been up there so I can't say what it's like. People can write on the tables, posts, anything that is wood.

You might think uh oh, I don't like the sound of that, but trust me if you love pulled pork, you will never taste it better anywhere else.

Just thinking about it has made me hungry, oh to be able to go there tonight.

Just don't go there too late in the evening, especially at the weekend, as one time we were there they actually ran out of pork.
