I think Disney is expecting it to be a very busy December. There have been quite a few changes to the park opening and closing times, seeing all 4 parks with extended hours. It would seem that even Animal Kingdom will be open from 8am - 9pm some days.

The Magic Kingdom's hours have changed a lot and on some days is open from 8am - 1am and then there are Extra Magic Hours in the morning and at night. This is obviously to do with the New Fantasyland.

You can find the updated hours here

You'd be tired, but you'll soon wake up when you get to the park, go for it :D

Which one are you thinking about.

If traffic is any indication (we've not been to WDW since the Festival of the Masters) the place must be mobbed. Going to work, no problem. Coming home is a miserable ride with a steady flow of out out state drivers who are afraid of the 8 lanes. :sigh:

I know they aren't all going to WDW, but many of them must be.

So much for my quiet early December, Saturdays are forecast to be as busy as Christmas week

I can't even imagine AK open that late at this time of year.

Disney are obviously concerned with the amount of guests that intend to visit. I was surprised when they said they were opening New Fantasyland for Christmas. I suppose they wanted the beginning of December to bring in more people, well they have certainly succeeded

I don't think you are going to have a nice quiet time Brit and Keith.

I bet your glad you aren't going for Christmas this year Keith, it sounds like it's going to be a nightmare :hide:

I was looking at some pictures of the Magic Kingdom this week and I would absolutely hate it. There are reports of 90 minute waits for Pirates and Jungle Cruise, people were lining up for 30 mins to get something from the Churro Cart. If it's like this in November, I can see a lot of the parks closing due to capacity at various times in December :sigh:

Here are some of the photos I've seen, these were taken on the 20th November, which was a Tuesday! I know it was on the run up to Thanksgiving, but they seem pretty large to me.

Yep, that's about what I've heard too. Those photos depict the attendance pretty accurately. I've been told that the guests dining at some of the restaurants are pretty horrible too. Thanksgiving Dinner at the Wave was described as "horrible" in terms of guests behavior...
