I would so like to take this cruise.

Course, I'd have to go buy some cold weather clothes before I did. :surrender:

Only problem I see is trying to fit it all in. You're only in Skagway for about 12 hours. Makes for a busy day.

    Tom :)macwave:... more flannel!)

Did the Alaskan cruise aboard a Carnival ship a few years ago. As I recall the trip was excellent. I can only imagine it done Disney style!

DW Sally along with her sister and her friend all went. We too stopped in Skagway and we took a train into the mountains, it stopped to let us off and we were led into the woods with a guide for a trek along beautiful trails. It was a nice town.

  Do you know that might be an option, he has always wanted to go to Alaska to take photos of the scenery. Hhhmmmm, I wonder - the only thing is I like to go where the sun is, so I probably wouldn't want to go if it was a choice between the cruise or going back to Florida

You can slap me if you like :D

Sadly it would have to be one or the other Tom, we couldn't afford to do both in one year :sigh:

Alaska is strange! I went to Anchorage about two weeks before our cruise and it was beautiful...sunny every day. I thought that was what it was like. We were there for over a week with a NASA workshop on climate change.

We even took a small tour boat out of Sewell and toured the Kenai fjords and there wasn't a cloud to be seen. Turns out that is the strange weather.

We cruised from Vancouver and it was sunny most of our trip but as we went along it got cloudier. It was sort of raining when we went to the College Glaciers.
