The newest Disney Vacation Club Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is currently under construction.

The Deluxe Studio rooms will comfortably sleep up to five Guests with the pull-down bed feature, along with the pull out couch. Once completed, these 360 Deluxe Studios will be the largest at Walt Disney World Resort.

The rooms are designed to be flexible, allowing for lounging during the day – indoors and out on their private balcony or patio.

Guests will also find plenty of storage and closet space, the coffee table opens to reveal storage inside and the bed is designed to accommodate luggage underneath.

They've advertised things here that they should do in all resorts, like being able to store luggage under the bed.

I read somewhere that it's up to $2000 per night for the largest! Friends who are DVC members were saying that it would take ALL of their points to just stay a couple of days. They won't be doing that. I forget how many points per week it is, but it's over a thousand. DVC may have to raise their limit on points that they allow people to own. Crazy! (But I'll definitely want to see them).

I would have thought you could stay in the Maldives or somewhere like that in a hut in the water for the same sort of price

Or less! Getting to the Maldives would be the pricey part for us.

Here is the beginning of a conversation with some friends on the topic...
    "Polynesian Villas -
The cost for a Bora Bora Bungalow ranges from 115 to 227 points per night, or $2,137 to $3040 per night.
I checked - you can stay at Four Seasons Resort IN THE REAL Bora Bora in an over-water bungalow suite for less then half that!
    What do ya think?"

"The odd thing about the Poly is they really broke the DVC mold. No one or three bedroom units, just studios (no kitchen or washer & dryer) that connect. (Old rooms that have been converted) And the two bedroom bungalows out on the water. For over $2K a night I would expect at least a three bedroom unit."

"Now will my family be staying at the Poly. Yes in a deluxe studio. Our points can be used at all dvc locations. I don't have to buy at the Poly to stay at the poly. But those bungalows are a joke! I don't have 1000 points to burn for one week vacation. They have lost their damn minds!"

"Also, I just added up the bungalow debate. Even if I banked a year of points, used the current year and borrowed from the next year, I don't have enough points to stay in a bungalow for a week. Of course, we only have 160 points a year BUT still-3 years of points and I still wouldn't be able to do it. That's absofrigginglutely NUTS!"

I cut and pasted some of the more salient comments. These are all dyed in the wool Disney fans, and some are cast members. Some are DVC owners as you can see...

They've definitely set a new "bar" with the bungalows. I just can't imagine spending that kind of money...

It sure makes the GF seem inexpensive.
We could do a couple of DCL cruises too for that number of DVC points.
